Test x180 Ignite is one of five different multi-functional testosterone boosting products from Force Factor.
5 different Test x180 branded products.
Test x180 - original product; focuses just on testosterone boosting
Test x180 Tempest - test booster emphasizing muscle, energy, and endurance
Test x180 Alpha - test booster emphasizing libido, sexual performance, and stamina
Test x180 Genesis - test booster emphasizing strength, endurance, cognitive fortitude
Test x180 Ignite - test booster emphasizing fat burning & weight loss
The idea is that Force Factor has testosterone boosting as the baseline part of the product, and then they add another component to it to fit the possible different needs of men out there.
If you're looking for a testosterone booster with an emphasis on muscle building, for example, then you would choose the Tempest product. If you wanted enhanced libido, then you would choose the Alpha product, and so on.
This review will focus solely on the Test x180 Ignite product, which has an emphasis on fat burning & weight loss.
I have to say that Force Factor does an excellent job marketing. If you check out their website, it's very appealing. Everything about it screams TESTOSTERONE BOOSTING. Lots of hormone-pumping graphics, charts & graphs, etc.
Clearly, this dog has lots of bark, now let's take a look at what kind of bite it actually has.
Let's take a quick snapshot look at the pros and cons of the product.
Let's take a look under the covers of this product, and see what we can determine about the ingredients.
After looking closely at the ingredients label, I have to say that my first impressions were NOT GOOD.
I know the Test x180 brand of products is extremely popular, so I thought there had to be a good reason why. What I was hoping to find was an ingredients label that contained a nice big long list of proven testosterone boosting ingredients.
Unfortunately, that's not what I found.
How do products like this become popular? Is it really just great marketing and advertising?
The ingredients have two main components. The Manliness Ignition Matrix is testosterone boosting part of the formula. The Fat Incineration Complex is the weight loss & fat burning part of the formula.
Ingredients Included in the Manliness Ignition Matrix:
Testofen (Fenugreek)- we're off to a good start since this is a known and proven testosterone boosting ingredient due to strong anti-estrogenic effect it has on men
Green Tea Leaf Extract- what the heck? Why this is included in the testosterone boosting part of the formula is a mystery to me. There's no known testosterone boosting capabilities in Green Tea Leaf Extract.
Avena Sativa Extract- this is a fancy word for the common oat. Though oats are shown to lower cholesterol levels, there's no scientific proof that it does anything for boosting T levels.
Horny Goat Weed- a knows libido enhancer, but not a testosterone booster. It's a great complimentary ingredient to add to a core group of proven testosterone boosters especially to give an extra kick to the libido. Again, this only makes sense if you have at least 5 other core proven test boosting ingredients. This is not considered a testosterone booster.
I'm more interested in looking at testosterone boosters for their ability to actually increase testosterone levels. For review purposes, the other sub-category of product that they include is less of a priority for me. I also find that products that try and be a 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 tend offer watered down versions of each of the components they offer, and that really appears to be the case here with Test x180 Ignite.
There's only a total of 400 mg of this complex. There are two problems.
First, that overall dosage is low. That 400 mg is divided up among the different ingredients in the complex which doesn't seem like any one ingredient would have a powerful dose (assuming 400 mg was divided up equally among the ingredients in the formula).
Second, is the lack of individual ingredients dosages. How can anyone determine how effective a product is going to be without knowing the dosage levels?
Here's my general stance on "proprietary blends" (also given fancy branded names like Manliness Ignition Complex).
Proprietary Blends are when a company lists out all the ingredients (because they are required to by the FDA), but they don't list out the individual ingredient dosages.
Companies say they do this so they can protect their trade secrets of combination of ingredients. That may sound good on the surface, but it really leaves the consumer in a no win position. How is a consumer supposed to make a determination of the quality and effectiveness of a product when they don't know how much of each ingredient they are getting?
This is critically important especially in the case of Test x180 Ignite because it only has ONE SINGLE INGREDIENT SHOWN TO BOOST TESTOSTERONE. If that fact alone wasn't enough to make you want to pass on the product, wouldn't the fact that you don't even know the dose of that one ingredient put the nail in the coffin for you? It did for me, that's for sure.
This is why I don't like proprietary blends. As a review or consumer, we have no way of evaluating a product and determining if we think it will be effective. That's a real problem.
There are two ways to determine if a product works. One is real customer feedback and the other is science.
The most weighted determinant that you should use whether a product truly works or not is the scientific evidence backing it up.
In the case of a testosterone booster, increasing testosterone levels is what we're measuring to determine if a product works. Does the product have ingredients that have been proven to boost T levels? In addition to that, do the proven ingredients have high enough doses to be effective at achieving the goal - boosting testosterone?
What does science say about this product?
It says that there is only one ingredient that even has been shown to boost testosterone. That fact alone is not good. The best testosterone boosters usually have close to 10 different testosterone boosting ingredients. There is much more power and effectiveness when multiple ingredients are combined to increase T levels.
At a minimum, my recommendation is that a product have AT LEAST 5 proven testosterone boosting ingredients. This product has one. Then top it off with the fact that we don't know if it has 1 mg or 397 mg because the overall dosage for the blend is 400 mg, and that 400 mg has to be divided up among 4 different ingredients.
The other data point to look at in determining if a product works is by seeing what kind of customer feedback a product received.
In this case, I went to Amazon because it's a good source to check out the customer feedback of various products if they happen to be offered on Amazon.
What I found was that the overall rating was 3.5 out of 5 stars from real customers.
When looking at breakdown of scores, it seems that people either loved this product or hated it. Not a lot of middle ground.
You can try this product if you want to, and you might feel some benefit, like extra energy as an example due the different coffee (caffeine) extracts that are included in the fat burning complex.
But if you're looking for a real & powerful testosterone booster that has much more than just one proven test boosting ingredient, AND all the individual dosages to back them up, AND almost 100% positive market & customer reviews, then I would say there are definitely MUCH BETTER options available to you.
If you're truly look to boost your testosterone levels, then you need a proven winner.
You need a product that has a minimum of 5 proven test boosting ingredients + any other complementary ingredients added to that.
You must be able to see all the dosage levels of every single ingredient so you can determine how effective it will be. Having proven ingredients mean nothing if the dosage levels are too low to make a difference.
Test x180 Ignite just doesn't seem to make the cut even for consideration as an average product.
Bottom line is that there are other testosterone boosters on the market that don't have all the red flags and stoppers that this product does.
My recommendation is to pass on Test x180 Ignite. There are just so many other testosterone boosters that are substantially better. Just take a look at this year's top 3 below. They're all head and shoulders better than Test x180 Ignite.
